This is a 9.3 mile trail that goes around a beautiful lake located almost in downtown Dallas. The trail distance is marked by the quarter mile, and water fountains and restrooms can be found along the trail. The trail is paved with asphalt, so it is more knee-friendly for runners.

Near downtown Dallas, located off East Lawther Drive, approximately 1.5 miles north of Garland Rd.

Go East on I-30 for 2.9 miles, Exit on East Grand Blvd. Turn left on East Grand Blvd. and go 2.8 miles. East Grand Blvd. will turn into Garland Rd. in the 7500 block. At 8300 Garland Rd, turn left into the park on East Lawther drive.

Parking is available at numberous places along the trail. Other starting points can include Big Thicket and Winfrey Point. Easy access is also available off Buckner Boulevard, Mockingbird Lane and West Lawther Drive.

My husband and I were in Dallas recently and cycled and then ran around the park. It was a flat course with some small hills if you ventured into the residential area. We did find the fellow cyclists friendly and helpful and the asphalt was nicer to the knees when running.
