The White Rock Creek Path extends from White Rock Lake northwest to approximately Hillcrest and I-635 (LBJ) in Dallas. It is paved and generally flat and has half mile markers along the entire route. Lots of runners and bikers use the path at peak times but early mornings are a good time to go to avoid the human traffic. The best thing about this path is that there are almost no grade level street crossings - mostly the path goes underneath bridges to avoid streets. White Rock Lake is supposed to be THE place to run in Dallas, but I never got all the way there. Scenery is not great as you run through urban areas along a mostly dried out creek (contained by concrete walls), but if you are nearby, the White Rock Creek Path is a nice safe place to get in a good run!
There are a few small parking lots on Park Central Drive (between Coit and Hillcrest Roads) between Forest Lane and I-635. If you start your run from here, you are near the far northwest end of the path, so I suggest that you start running southeast, towards White Rock Lake (about 7 miles away).
