The race course starts/finishs in downtown Cape Girardeau, MO. The course consists of scenic views of the Mississippi river and the banks of Illinois. Test your hill climbing abilities as there are several challenging hills. There is also a 1 mile non-competitive walk/run.
This race is in memory of Vicky Keller for her dedication to Cape Road Runners and encouragement of other runners. In 1999 Vicky Keller died from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (sudden death) while attending a road race. ALL money made from the race goes toward the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association, which promotes awareness and education on sudden death.
Exit Interstate 55 at Exit 96 (Route K/Williams St.). Head east on Williams St. Just before the river at the Tee intersection, turn left (north) and go about three blocks. Race starts on the corner of Main Street and Broadway.
