A RRCA State Championship Race. A Trail Runner Magazine Trophy Series Race.

A hilly mountain half-marathon on dirt Mulholland will treat runners to beautiful spring foliage and magnificent vistas of the San Fernando Valley.

The race typically has cool, overcast weather. The course is entirely on county-maintained fire roads, with aid stations approximately every 3.5 miles.

Overall male/female winners receive award package valued at $500. Awards three deep in 5-year male/female age divisions. First place division winners receive sponsor prizes.

Sponsor-donated prizes will also be raffled during the awards ceremony immediately following the race.

The Valley Crest Half-Marathon benefits the UltraLadies' Running Club, New Basin Blues' Running Club High School Cross Country Fund, Garden of Angels, Para los Ninos and other local charitable organizations.The race is held completely on the dirt section of Mulholland Drive. To get to the start:

  • Take U.S.101 to Reseda Blvd.
  • Go south on Reseda Blvd. approximately 4.0 miles to the street end.
  • There will be volunteers to help with parking.
