Why in the heck would anybody run on the roads inside Percy Warner Park when you can run on the 20 miles of interlocking trails inside the forest?
I ran at Percy Warner or 2 years and never once ran on the roads! I can't even begin to understand the logic behind that. Thee are wonderful trails for running. The 8-mile loop and the 5-mile loop are favorites. Or, combine them for a long run. Lots of roller coaster hills and beautiful scenes, but nothing too difficult. Great, great stuff. Just access them from the Belle Meade entrance, about 1/2 mile up the road on either side.

Mud for one AND the horse trails are quite rutted from...well....horses. I run there are usually leave with a twisted ankle and a hatred for hooved animals.
There are only a few off road marathons avialable so running on both hardtop and trails are necessary for me.
