Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and Mighty Ducks Care present The Big Race to be held on Saturday July 30th around Lake Mission Viejo. The day's activities will include a 10K Run a 5K Run/Walk both starting at 8:00 a.m., a 1K Kids' Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. and a Diaper Dash for all the little ones at 9:30a.m.
New additions! A 10K course has been added this year! The 10K course will be two loops of the 5K course around beautiful lake Mission Viejo. New start/finish line! The start of both races will take place at the permanent start/finish line that was created by the City of Mission Viejo's Heritage Committee to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the 1984 Olympic Bike Race that road through the streets of Mission Viejo. The Expo and awards ceremony will be held at the Youth Athletic Park, located adjacent to the start/finish line.
This will be a day of fun for the whole family. Kids can enjoy the Kid?s Expo which will feature The Mighty Ducks Goal Patrol Hockey Rink and The Mighty Ducks Mascot Wild Wing; they can meet and greet a police dog and pony, and even explore a Fire Truck and HUMV. There will also be face painting, balloon artists and many more fun activities.
The "Big" Expo will be filled with booths that will range from restaurants to running clubs to health food vendors. The Expo will also feature live entertainment, great food and lots of fun. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. $250 for 1st place, $150 for second place and $100 for 3rd place. Medals will be awarded to top three male and female finishers in each age group and all participants in the Kids? Fun Run and Diaper Dash will receive a special finisher?s medal.

From the 5 Freeway take the Alicia Pkwy exit and head east. Stay on Alicia for about 5 miles until you reach Marguerite. Turn left on Marguerite and Right on Olympiad.
Parking will be available the Youth Athletic Park, Lake Mission Viejo parking lot, Marketplace on the Lake, Florence Joyner Olympiad park, some street parking and Trabuco Hills High School.
