Some researchers believe that each of us has an instinctive need call biophilia - a longing to be one with nature. Come alive in 2005 and Run/Walk naturally (or if you prefer to be clothed, that's OK too) and see what a stress release it can be on our "GREAT" 5k XC trail through the woods and give your Spirit a Boost at the Take Pride in Your Hide 5k on the Bar-S-Ranch Nudist Resort. It has been dubbed by Runners World that we had the fastest "nude" runner, Dave Dunham, that ran the course in 15:56 in the year 2000. His record is yet to be broken!
This race is CLOTHING OPTIONAL-MUST BE 18+ to participate.
There will be unique T-shirts, prizes & drawings. Money awards. Top prize give away will be a One Year membership to the Bar-S, valued at $600. Food & refreshments will be served, including Budweiser kegs of beer. Join us for a fun-filled day. You will be able to stay on the ranch until 2pm to enjoy the pool, hot tub, sauna (nude only.)You may swim at your own risk, in Lake Wanda, (clothed or nude.) Please bring a towel to sit upon, this is proper etiquette at a nudist resort. On race day, the resort will only be open to members and runners/walkers. You may bring your spouse or significant other. A nude & non-nude photo will be taken after the event for those who wish to participate & may be purchased for a $10 fee TO BE PAID ON RACE DAY. DO NOT include with entry fee.
Take Pride in Your Hide 5k will be the second race of the new 2005 Triple Butt Crown by NC Ultra Adventures, see ncultra.org for more info.
Take Pride in Your Hide 5k won the first place 2004 readers choice award from the Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine for the "Most Creative Event Name."
