This run follows a new, asphalt track, probably designed for bicycles, along the top of Monteagle Mountain on the Cumberland Plateau in middle Tennessee. The track probably has support from the University Of The South, which owns the surrounding area.

The path has a slight downhill grade from the St. Andrews end to Sewanee. The path starts at Midway Rd. at three white posts which exclude motorized vehicles. The route crosses two very lightly traveled roads: Airport Rd. and Lake O'Donnell Road. The track ends at three white posts at Hawkins Lane at Sewanee.

Along the route one sees the small Sewanee airport and hears traffic from US 41A but feels alone in a peaceful, quiet forest setting. Overhanging trees shade most of the path.

This run offers a nice speed session with both downhill and uphill grades or a convenient respite from the drive on I-24 between Chattanooga and Nashville.

After the run enjoy food & drink at Shennanigans, a popular college deli/pub, at the intersection of University Ave. and US 41A just west of the Hawkins Lane end of the path.

Driving north on I-24 take the exit for US 41A to Sewanee and the University of the South. Turn left on US 41A. About 2-3 miles from I-24 will be a blinking caution light at the St. Andrews-Sewanee School. You are now at St. Andrews. At the light turn left onto Midway Road. After going about 0.1 miles you will find an asphalt path on the right. Go a few more yards and park on the left in the Summit Lodge No. 497 F. & A.M. parking area.
