35th Annual event - oldest race in Arizona. Beautiful unique, challenging race in the unique setting of a national park. Paved road park loop (closed to traffic) over rolling hills with one major hill in the middle of the 8M run. 2 mile fun run/fitness walk available which is flatter and faster. Can be warm - it's the desert!
Special $50 award to the Best to Beat Your Age in Time (male or female +10 minutes).
Featured in the Sept. 2002 issue of Runner's World - Prickly Heat!
Aid stations at 2M, 4M and 6M - water only.
No strollers in 8M only in 2M.
No bikes, no dogs.
Entry fee includes pass fee of $5 into National Parks which can be waived if entrant has annual National Park pass or Golden Age Passport or is under 16 years of age.

From central Tucson, take 22nd St east to Old Spanish Trail. Follow the signs to Saguaro National Park East.
From Interstate 10, take Houghton Road exit, north to Old Spanish Trail.
