The Sac & Fox Trail is a crushed gravel path that winds along the Indian Creek and Cedar River on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There are access points at either end of the trail and two in the middle (off of Mount Vernon and Rosedale Roads). One nice characteristic of the trail is that there are no road crossings, aside from a crossing at Rosedale Road where traffic is very light. The vast majority of the trail is shaded, making this a great place to stay cool in the summer! The trail also winds through a wildlife preserve where it is not uncommon to see deer or turkeys. The mile markers on the trail are fairly accurate and the trail is almost completely flat with no major hills.
The Sac & Fox trail is located on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There are access points with parking lots at either end and two in the middle at Mount Vernon and Rosedale Roads. Trail maps are also posted at each parking lot. The parking lot that I have used is near the intersection of Mount Vernon and Bertram Road.
