This is my favorite run in Nashville. There are a few hills and a few places where the shoulder of the road is small, but overall it is a fantastic run. The run goes from Belle Meade Boulevard (a 5 mile run that is good too) out to Radnor Lake. After climbing a steep but short hill, you run around the perimeter of the lake and turn around to head back. Often you can see deer, owls, and other animals. There are 2 ranger stations by the lake (great bathroom stops!!). There are also a few soft trails by the lake if your knees need a rest.
From Downtown Nashville, drive south on West End Avenue for about 6-7 miles. About 1/2 mile after crossing White Bridge/Woodmont rd., the Belle Meade Police station and a big white church will be on your left. Right after the church, you will make a left turn onto Belle Meade Boulevard (look for the horse statues). This is one end of the Boulvard. Drive 2.5 miles down the Boulevard and you will see "The Gates". Park here and start your run.
Run up Belle Meade Boulevard to Tyne Boulevard. Run down Tyne about 2 miles, cross Hillsboro Road. Turn Right on Robert E. Lee. Turn Left on Otter Creek, but quickly turn Right back onto Robert E. Lee. At the end of the road, turn Left onto Granny White and then a Right onto Otter Creek again. There is a market there if you need some water or gatorade. Otter Creek will take you straight to Radnor Lake. Run up the hill, around the lake, and then turn around at the second ranger station and head back to Belle Meade the same way.
