The 5K course is mostly flat with a few slight grades. The course is about 90% asphalt. The fastest time last year was 14:58. The Rec Center is a non-profit organization and the monies raised from this race are used to maintain a quality and affordable Recreation Center for the Northampton Borough and surrounding communities. The following is a list of prizes for the 5K race.
Overall fastest time M & F = $225.00 each
Masters (40 & over) M & F = $150.00 each
Seniors (50 & over) M & F = $100.00 each
Age Group awards - 19 & over, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55 & 56+ years -
1st place - $75.00 M & F
Second place -$50.00 M & F
Third place in each age category - M $40.00 gift certificate - Finish Line
Third place in each age category - F $40.00 gift certificate - Aardvark Sports Shop
Fourth place in each age category M & F NBRC t-shirt
All participants will receive a 5K t-shirt
All particpants will receive a free raffle tacket - drawing to be held the day of the race
Last year 148 runners participated. We are anticipating 300 runners for the 5th Annual Race.

The Rec Center is about 12 miles north of Allentown Rt 78 /22 to MacArthur Rd. North. Follow to Rt. 329 East. Once you cross the bridge into Northampton make a Rt. turn at the 2nd light (Laubach Ave.) Follow Laubach Ave. until you reach Smith Lane. At Smith Lane make a Rt. turn and at the stop sign turn rt. onto Lerchenmiller Dr. The Rec Center is the 2nd building on the left.
