Get ready for an 8K Run and Walk in the Park this coming October 2 ? the 3rd Annual K8-8K sponsored by KAIT, and partner businesses to raise awareness and donations for the American Cancer Society.
K8-8K registration fees and sponsor contributions benefit our local Mid-South division of the American Cancer Society.
Runners and walkers alike will enjoy the scenic course around the lake in Craighead Forest Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In 2004 there were over 200 running / walking participants.
Course:
A paved, perimeter park road will be dedicated to the K8-8K during the morning of the race. The selected 8-kilometer (4.96 mi) route consists of varying terrain from flat stretches to a few semi-challenging hills.
On-line registration will be available through 11:59 p.m. CDT, Wednesday, Sept. 28. Live registration will be available on 'race eve', Friday, Sept. 30 and day of race on Oct. 1 before 7:30 AM. All entry fees are non-refundable. Net proceeds directly benefit the Mid-South Division of the American Cancer Society. All race day participants will receive a gift bag with a competitor's T-shirt.
Prizes/Awards:
Top 3 overall, male and female winners enjoy cash prizes of
$250-1st, $125-2nd and $75-3rd. Top 3 Finishers in each age/gender division will receive an award.
Travel Hwy 63 to Jonesboro Arkansas, take Harrisburg road exit to Parker road and then to S. Culberhouse Road to Craighead Forest Park.
