Join us for a day of races & competitions celebrating your power, strength & can-do spirit. Activities include 4-mile run, 1.7-mile health walk, and the Fitness Magazine Mind, Body, Spirit Center. On-site festivities include free samples, Fitness Magazine editor meet-and-greet, mini-massages, fitness demonstrations, on-site sweepstakes, and gift bags (while supplies last).

Fees: $20 by Nov. 5 (online, postmarked or faxed), $25 online from Nov. 6-11, $30 event morning

Crissy Field Location: Crissy Field is located on the shoreline of the Presidio, to the southeast of the Golden Gate Bridge, between the Palace of Fine Arts and Fort Point. Event registration/check-in, the Start, the Finish, and the Mind, Body, Spirit Center are all located at or adjacent to the Glass Palace (Presidio Building #924), which is the tall, glass, hanger-like structure at the west end of the historic Crissy Airfield.

Registration: Register for the fitness Games via fax or mail (postmarked or faxed by Nov. 5, 2005), online at Active.com or fitnessmagazine.com (by Nov. 11, 2005), or in person at Race Day Registration.

Race Day Bib Number Pick-up and Registration: Bib numbers will NOT be mailed. Bib Number Pick-up and Race Day Registration is at the Glass Palace (building #924), across Crissy Field from the Marine Sanctuary Visitors Center, starting at 7 AM. Bib number pick-up and registration for the 1.7-mile health walk is from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM, and is from 7:00 AM to 8:45 AM for the 4-mile race. Arrive early. Race morning registration is by cash or check (with valid ID) only. Please note credit cards will NOT be accepted race morning.

Course: 4-mile run course is a scenic loop around Crissy Field, with out-and-back to Fort Point. Course is run over hardpack sand and dirt, as well as on asphalt. 1.7 Mile Health Walk takes a scenic route along the beautiful Golden Gate Promenade. Surface is hardpack dirt and sand with some asphalt.

Start/Finish: The Start and Finish are on Mason Street, in front of the Glass Palace (Building 924), which is at the west end of the historic Crissy Airfield, across the airfield from the Marine Sanctuary Visitors Center.

Sweats/Gear Check: Free Sweats/Gear Check is provided. Please do not leave valuables. The fitness Mind, Body, Spirit Games and its staff, contractors and volunteers are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition: For the safety of all participants and to satisfy insurance requirements, no headphones, skates or animals are permitted. Participant bib numbers must be fully visible at all times.

Race Scoring: The 1.7-mile health walk is an unscored event. Your time will not be recorded, so please check your time at the finish. The 4-mile race is timed and scored. Results for the 4-mile race will be posted at fitnessmagazine.com. Please pin your bib number on the FRONT of your shirt to facilitate accurate scoring. Thanks!

Event Activities: Pick up your free goody bag after the race in the Mind, Body, Spirit Center (while supplies last), and join us just adjacent to the Glass Palace for fitness and health activities, Fitness Magazine editor meet-and-greet, mini-massages, free giveaways, great entertainment and the awards ceremony. 1.7-mile walk and 4-mile race participants receive free t-shirts.

Awards: Awards will be given to the overall female and male winners of the 4-mile race. Awards will also be presented to the top three women and men in the following age divisions in the 4-mile race: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

Free Valet Bicycle Parking: Leave the car at home and warm up by biking to the festivities! Free valet bicycle parking managed by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

Parking: Free parking available at locations close to the Glass Palace (924 Mason St.): - Across from stables on McDowell Ave., between Cowles Ave. and Patten Rd., north of Lincoln Blvd. - In the center of the lot on Mason St. between SportsBasement and Shurgard Self-Storage. Do not park in spaces designated for Shurgard or SportsBasement. - In the Main Post lot (Lincoln Blvd. and Montgomery St.), and - In front of vacant buildings and in lots along the south side of Mason St.

Directions from the East Bay (Bay Bridge): West across Bay Bridge (Hwy. 80). Take Fremont St. exit. Left onto Fremont. Right onto Howard. Left onto the Embarcadero. Left onto Bay St. Right onto Laguna. Laguna turns into Marina Blvd. GO ALONG MARINA BLVD. (toward Golden Gate Bridge) and get in right lane. Continue in right lane to stop at Marina Gate. Cross intersection where Marina Blvd. turns into Mason Street. About 1 mile after you get on Mason, go right as the road banks left. The Glass Palace is just ahead on the left.

Directions from North Bay (Golden Gate Bridge): Hwy 101 South toward San Francisco (across the Golden Gate Bridge). Exit Lombard St. From the right lane, take a very sharp right into the Presidio onto Gorgas Ave. Stay left on Gorgas. Right onto Halleck. Follow Halleck to Mason St. Left onto Mason. About 7/10ths of a mile after you get on Mason, go right as the road banks left, keeping the airfield grass to your immediate right. The Glass Palace (building 924 ) is just ahead on the left.

Directions from South Bay: Hwy 101 North to Hwy 80 East (towards Bay Bridge). Exit 7th St. Left onto 7th St. Left onto McAllister St. Right onto Franklin St. Left onto Lombard St. Stay with traffic as Lombard banks right and becomes Richardson. Get in left lane and take Presidio/Crissy Field exit on left. Right at stop sign onto Marshall. Left at Mason. Go about 8/10ths of a mile on Mason, and go right as the road banks left. Glass Palace (builing 924 ) is just ahead on the left.
