Join us Monday, July 3, at 7:30 pm for the Eighth Annual Time Warner Road Runner Firecracker 5K Run/Walk to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital! This 5K event is hosted by The Racquet Club of Memphis, and presented by Oak Hall, the Bank of Bartlett, Menard, Gates & Mathis, Bryan Foods, Gould's Styling Salons, the Ognibene Clinic and Allstate.
Be a part of this summer evening of fun and celebration for the entire family. It?s Tennessee's RRCA 5K state championship. It?s a dance and pool party. And it?s a chance to support the children of St. Jude. In just six years, this event has become the second largest footrace in Memphis, with over 2,300 entrants last year and a total contribution of $220,000 to the hospital.
The 3.1-mile race will again be managed by the Memphis Runners Track Club and Best Times, and will again feature computer chips as timing devices. Everyone entering before 7pm on race day will be issued a ChampionChip, which will attach to your running shoe and immediately identify and post your time as you cross the finish line. *Anyone registering after 7pm on race day will not receive a chip or time but will be eligible to run, receive a race T-shirt and enjoy all of the post-race activities.
NEW THIS YEAR: Generation Cup - The first 200 children running or walking across the finish line with a GRANDPARENT will receive a medal!!!
This flat, fast 3.1-mile certified course has again been selected by the RRCA as Tennessee's official state championship course for this distance. The Firecracker 5K will start and finish at The Racquet Club of Memphis.
Directions from Little Rock / I-40 East to Memphis
Take I-40 East across the Mississippi River to I-40 East/I-240 South split. Bear left at the fork to stay on I-40 East to Nashville. At the next Nashville/Jackson split, stay on I-240 West (to Jackson). Exit Poplar Avenue (Exit 15) westbound. Bear right at the fork. Proceed 1 mile to White Station Road. Turn right onto White Station. The Racquet Club of Memphis is one block north at the corner of White Station and Sanderlin.
Directions from Jackson / I-55 North to Memphis
Take 1-55 North to I-240 East (Exit 6A to Nashville). Exit Poplar Avenue (Exit 15B) westbound. Proceed 1 mile to White Station Road. Turn right onto White Station. The Racquet Club of Memphis is one block north at the corner of White Station and Sanderlin.
Directions from Nashville / I-40 West to Memphis
Take I-40 West to I-240 West (Exit 10A to Jackson). Exit Poplar Avenue (Exit 15) westbound. Bear right at the fork. Proceed 1 mile to White Station Road. Turn right onto White Station. The Racquet Club of Memphis is one block north at the corner of White Station and Sanderlin.
