The Eastern Prom trail is built along the old rail corridor. It offers spectacular harbor and ocean views and is a popular spot for walking, running, bicycling, and rollerblading. Benches and picnic tables are located along the route and at East End Beach. Public toilets at East End Beach are open during the summer months.

Description: Parallel paved and stone dust trails along the water. The mostly flat slope has a small rise near Tukey\\'s Bridge, where it connects to the Back Cove Trail.

Back Cove trail
One of the oldest and most popular of the trails in Portland, this beautiful loop around Portland\\'s Back Cove offers great views of the Portland skyline. Ideal for walking, jogging, biking and dog walking. Benches along the trail provide excellent spots for bird (and people) watching.

Description: Loop trail with stone dust and paved surfaces. The trail is mostly flat with a slight rise along the stretch that parallels I-295. The Back Cove Trail connects to the Eastern Promenade Trail under Tukey\\'s Bridge

Eastern Prom Trail access: The trailhead on India Street can be accessed at the corner of Commercial and India Streets. To reach the East End Beach parking area, descend from the Eastern Promenade Park down Cutter Street to the parking area.

Back Cove Trail Access: Parking is available in the lot off Preble Street Extension and on the north side of Baxter Boulevard at Payson Park.
