Founded in 1979, the Maine Track Club is Maine's largest and most active running club. The club has over 500 members, organizes many road races each year and hosts monthly membership meetings featuring notable speakers from the world of running and fitness.
Diverse membership:
The Maine Track Club features a wide range of members, including beginning runners and experienced racers, men and women, children and seniors. Our common bond is the joy of movement and of being outdoors.
Road racing:
For those who enjoy racing, the Maine Track Club sponsors races ranging in distance from 3.1 to 50 miles in length.
Social activities:
Many Maine Track Club members enjoy socializing at the monthly membership meetings, at post-run get-togethers and on organized outings and trips.
Club affiliations:
The Maine Track Club is an affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and USA Track & Field (USATF). MTC members are also members of RRCA and receive several RRCA membership benefits and services, including the quarterly RRCA newsletter.
Club members gather for an informal distance run on Saturday mornings at 7 a.m. in the parking lot of Maine Roasters Coffee on Route 1 in Falmouth. This is a great opportunity to discover the social aspects of running. All ability levels are welcome. Runners can group themselves based on pace and then go out for runs ranging from 5-20 miles through Falmouth and Portland. The courses are well laid out.
