My eldest son joined the military 7 years ago, he went to Irak twice (2 years term) and the first time he went there I got in a really bad depression, so when I found out that he was leaving again January 2005, I decided that I did not want to feel the same way I felt before. So, I decided to do some type of physical training. I joined a yoga center, which helped me a lot, but then one day a friend of mine told me "do you want to run the Aids marathon?". at the time I did not know what a marathon consisted of, but all came to my mind was commitment. I knew that if I commited myself to do something then I would not give up until is done. That's how I ran the Dublin Aids Marathon last October 31, 2005. And found out that I just love to run. My son is back thank God! And he jokes about me being a marathoner.
