I discovered running at the 10K BolderBoulder in 2002 where I entered as a walker/jogger and ended up happily running the last 4K so I decided to give it a try and have not stopped yet.
My best days start with a morning run!
I am not the greatest runner in the world but, even though I would like to get faster, I mostly enjoy beign out there, in every weather...actually the worst the weather the more I feel I accomplished and conquered that day and I feel even better about my run and myself!
I have mostly run on roads until recently when, thanks to a little more time available to me, I can actually drive to some trails, which is a lot more fun!
On August 31st 2003 I ran the 10 Mile run of the Braceknridge mountain marathon race and it was my first mountain trail race and, even though it was certainly tough, it was a wonderful experience...beeing surrounded by nature,in between the woods, on top of the treeline, down a windy dirt road...I loved it..even if my legs didn't quite agree with me for a few days afterwards. I will definitely do other races like that again...
Last year I finally ran my first marathon, the Boulder Backroads. What an awesome experience! What a great feeling of accomplishment! I can't wait for the next one.... soon...
