I ran my first race, a 5K, in New Orleans and it felt pretty good. I decided after my second race, a 5M later that week, to train for the Mardi Gras Marathon '05 which was about 3 months away. I finished that race and felt horrible! I decided to try another one and try to train a little better. I ran San Francisco in July '05 and improved my time on a tougher course.
I decided to try a string of a marathon a month beginning in September '05 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Hurricane Katrina intervened and my running schedule changed.
Since I evacuated for Katrina (August 27th I left New Orleans) I've been able to complete 12 marathons a few 5K's and a couple of 5-milers too. I'm seriously addicted to the pleasure of running for 26.2 miles, especially when I don't worry about a time goal.
