Viele Lake is located in South Boulder and is located next to the South Boulder Rec Center. There is a paved loop and dirt path around the lake that can be made into a 1 mile loop. The area is also used for corss country running races from time to time.
The paved neighborhood roads around Viele Lake are great for hilly training runs. You could easily start at the South Boulder Rec Center and make a 4-6 mile run through the hilly surrounding neighborhoods.
Directions
Parking and the South Boulder Rec Center can be found at 1360 Gillaspie in South Boulder. Turn south on Gillaspie from Table Mesa Blvd just a few blocks west of Broadway/Hwy 93. Take Gillaspie a few more blocks till you reach the lake and rec center.
