The trail goes from Pima Canyon to the communications towers at the top of South Mountain Park. The trail starts on a dirt road (1.5 miles) followed by a single track desert trail. It is generally uphill with one long climb at the beginning (where the trail meets the dirt road). Once up the initial hill, the trail rolls between a valley to the Towers.

If you're looking for a longer run, you can continue on the trail past the towers to the Park station on Central Avenue. The real name for the trail is the National Trail. However, locals call it the Towers trail.

From I-60/Mill Ave.
Take Mill Ave South to Baseline Road.
West (right) on Baseline to Kyrene Road.
South (left) on Kyrene Road to Guadalupe Road.
West (right) on Guadalupe Road through the town of Guadalupe and over the I-10 freeway. The road comes to a 'T' at South Pointe Parkway EAST.
West (left) onto South Pointe Parkway EAST.
North (right) at the first street (South Pointe Parkway WEST). Immediatley turn left into the South Mountain Park (this is about 50 yards after you made the last turn). Drive up the parkway until you reach the parking lot.
The dirt road will lead you directly West. Follow the signs to the National Trail.

There are several options for trail running out there. The National trail is the longest option.
