This section of the North St. Vrain creek flows through a section of Rocky Mountain National Park that gets much less visitors than the areas most accessible from Estes Park. However, on summer weekends, you'd best get there early as there is not much parking.

Fishing

Being basically at the headwater of the North St. Vrain Creek, the width of the waters can vary from 6 - 20ft wide. Not only is the creek pretty small here, but it can be pretty brushy. This is technical mountain stream fishing at its best. The fish are small, but they are plentiful and hungry.

Flies and Hatches

Popular flies for this water include midge imitations, pheasant tails, parachute Adams, Red Quill, and various beetles, ants and grasshoppers.
