This is the Northern Arziona Trail Runner's Asssociation's Monday Fun Run. Runners meet at 6 PM in the summer and 5 PM in the winter at Buffalo Park. Mile 1: Start at the 0 Mile Marker in Buffalo Park and run straight towards Mt. Elden. This mile is flat for 0.7 miles then becomes a rock hopping single track down to the drainage. Cross the drainage and you begin the long ascent. Mile 1 is near the carsonite trail marker on your right. Mile 2: This next mile covers the infamous 2 steps of the Oldham Trail. It is the most difficult mile on the run and climbs almost 400 feet. If you are going to make up time, this is where you can do it. Mile 2 is the first dip at the top of the second step.Mile 3: Pretty much an ankle twisting downhill from the top of the second step. It is extremely steep until you hit the trail junction to Rocky Ridge. Make a left here and follow the trail through numerous rollers. You will see a beautiful log cabin off to your right. Mile 3 is a ponderosa next to a large thinning pile on the right hand side of the trail. Mile 4: A gradual sandy downhill until the sharp right back up the rock hopping trail to Buffalo Park. Make sure you bear right onto a single track past the private homes otherwise you may find yourself lost in East Flag. Mile 4 is at the gate past the Oldham Trail register. Mile 4.5: A relatively fast and slightly downhill kick to the end. Have a beer and enjoy the Sunset!

Travel north under railroad tracks on Milton Road (main drag from 1-17). At the second stop light turn north on San Francisco St. Follow this north to Cedar Avenue ? just past the hospital (about 1 mile). Then turn right onto Cedar and head east to the top of the hill in the distance. The Buffalo Park turn off is to your left by the USGS Buildings.
