This run begins at the Sunset Trailhead and heads down the Little Elden Trail. The beginning of the run is a gentle downhill for about 2 miles to the Little Bear junction. At this point the uphill fun begins. Little Bear is 3.5 miles gradually uphill, climing about 1000 ft to the Upper Brookbank Trail. Make a right and head to the top of Sunset. At this point catch your breath, enjoy the panoramic views of the San Francisco Peaks, and then speed down the last two miles back to the Trailhead.

From Flagstaff, go north on HWY 180 past the Museum of Northern Arizona. Make a right on Schultz Creek Road and then follow it as it eventually bearsleft. The Sunset Trailhead is on the right about 4.3 miles past the last private home on Schultz Creek Road.
