The Kim Williams Trail is a rails-to-trails path that runs along the Clark Fork River. It is flat (although in Missoula you are surrounded by mountains), fairly straight, lighted in some spots, and has solid gravel footing. The elevation is only about 3200 feet above sea level, which is barely noticeable unless you are running a race or hard workout. The Trail is very scenic and is a great place for an short, easy run. More information is available at: http://www.missoulian.com/specials/hikebike/CFR-kim.html
Get off I-90 at exit 105 and travel south. You can find the Kim Williams Trail on the south side of the Clark Fork River. Van Buren Avenue and 4th St. East is as good a place as any to hop on the trail and go.
