This run starts at Bradford Intermediate School in Ken Caryl Valley on the southwest side of Littleton.
Cross over Valley Parkway and head down Dawn Heath Rd for about 1/4 mile. When you see a trail on the left, take it. Make an imediate right onto the paved path. Follow this path down the hill past the horses. When the pavement starts to turn right (and the houses disapear), you will see a small single track on you left. Take this and follow it down to the levee.
Turn right on the levee and go about 200 meters to another single track on your right. This trail will head back up the hill towards the red rock formations. Cross over the paved path and then make a right on the single track that goes behind the rocks. Go for another 200 meters and then turn left on the trail that runs behind the houses. Follow this single track to the road.
Cross over the road and jump on the Massy Draw Trail. This trial goes for about a mile up the hill. When you reach the fork, make a right and then another right onto the Colorow Trail. If you go up into the trees and hit a real steep uphill, then you missed the turn.
The Colorow trail rolls along the hills above the houses for about 1.5 miles before coming to a steep downhill (make sure to stay to the left at the 2 tril intersections, or you will end up in the neighborhood). At the bottom of the hill, make a left and climb the short, but steep hill up to the Manor House Trail.
Make a left on the Manor House Trail (a wide dirt road) and climb about 500' over the next mile to the Domino Trail. Turn right onto this single track and follow it down and over to the Bradford Trail. Go right on the Bradford trail and descend about a mile. When you get to the bottom there is a big brown sign. Turn right here and follow this trail between the houses.
Cross over the bridge and cross the gravel road back onto the single track. Follow this trail as it goes west, then south and then southeast to the old Bradford House. This is an old house that is in the process of being restored. THe only thing stand are the outside walls.
Follow the trail around the outside of the Bradford House and turn left onto the single track. Stay left at the next fork and follow this trail over the hill. It will turn to the right and continue down towards the Hogback where it will come out onto a road after about 1/2 mile. Turn right on the road and follow the road around to a set of mailboxes on the right. There is an unmarked single track here that goes behind the houses. Follow this trail around to the left and then make a right and cross the creek. Turn left and climb the short steep hill up to the well developed Hogback Trail. Turn right onto this trail and then make a left on the Lyons Hogback Trail. Climb the 1/4 mile hill and make a right on the Lyons Spur Trail. This will drop you back down onto the drit road where you will make a left and follow it down until it runs into the main paved road. (make a left at the big sign and stay on the dirt road).
Turn left on the paved road and then right onto Valley Parkway. This will drop you back off at the school in about 1/2 mile.To get there, get off of C-470 at the Ken Caryl exit and head west. At the light, turn right and head up the hill past the horse barns, towards the Manor House. Stay to the left at the next fork in the road. Go straight through the stop sign. Bradford Intermediate should be on your right.
These trails are private trails owned by the Ken Caryl Ranch Master Association. You must be a resident to run them. However, I have only been stoped by a Ranger once and have been running them at least 3x/wk for over a year. You are most likely to see a ranger on the Hogback trails. I have never seen on on the small single tracks.
