Trail race along the James River Park System in Richmond, VA at Pony Pasture Park. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Virginia Junior Academy of Science.
Founded in 1941, the Virginia Junior Academy of Science encourages Virginia?s secondary school students to continue their education in science, engineering and related fields. VEBC will donate the proceeds to the Academy to be used for student?s grants for environmentally focused projects. These research grants could lead to full or partial scholarships for the finalists who are selected at the VJAS annual competition.
T-shirst day of race for first 300 runners. Richmond Road Runners Club manages the race for this event (www.rrrc.org). You can register on line at www.active.com
Directions to Pony Pasture, James River Park System on Riverside Drive. Note: Road closes at 8AM to set up race course. Race starts promptly at 9am. Limited parking in Park - Carpooling is encouraged.
From Downtown Richmond:
Go West on Broad Street
Turn Left on Libbie Ave.
Turn Right on Cary Street across the Huguenot Bridge.
Take 1st Right after bridge on ramp down to Riverside Dr.
Take a Right, Pony Pasture is about a mile or so on your Left.
From North of Richmond:
Take I95 South to I64/I195 exchange.
I195 is a left merge for this exit toward Powhite Parkway.
Cross bridge and take 1st Exit ? Forrest Hill go right
Turn Right at Stratford Hills Shopping Center (Hathaway Rd) at end
Turn Left onto Longview Dr. ? at end
Turn Right onto Rockfalls Dr. at end
Turn Left onto Riverside Dr.
Park entrance a little ways down on your Right.
