I decided to do a couple of long-distance lead-up races to my first marathon (in June, 2001). First off was the half-M in Peterborough back in February of that year. A mere month later, I was running in this one, a 30k, big field stint with lots of international flavour to to - and yes, it is the oldest road race on the continent.
After pasing on this particular event for the past couple of years, I ran it again last year, finishing 43 seconds slower. I am aiming for a better time this coming year, on March 20.
