Once around the beautiful, historic Tidal Basin.
Our Tidal Basin 3K is held the third Wednesday of each month.
The course starts and finishes on the north plaza of Jefferson Memorial, facing Tidal Basin. The course is mostly flat.
IN GOOD WEATHER, the course is one loop around Tidal Basin, starting at the east end of the north plaza and finishing at the west end. Low branches of cherry trees in the first mile present a hazard to tall runners. Other hazards are weather conditions, ducks, and tourists, so please be cautious on this course.
IN BAD WEATHER (e.g., ice, floods, beaver invasions), the course starts at the same place, but goes up Ohio Drive along the riverside to the statue of John Erickson, inventor of the screw propellor.
REGISTRATION is free starting at 11:50 am, 10 minutes before the 12 noon race. Weather permitting, registration is outdoors on the east parapet of the plaza, but in cold or nasty weather, registration is indoors in the EAST hallway under the Memorial.
BATHROOMS are available in the Jefferson Memorial.
