Dogs are off leash. Creek runs through the middle. Main dirt road runs down the middle, but don't miss the northern foot trail that tracks up fairly rugged hills from east to west along the north end.

Take I-80 eastbound from Salt Lake City to the 2300 East exit (just 2 minutes).
Make an immediate left turn and proceed up hill 1/4 mile.
Park entrance is on the left - see the "Tanner Park" sign. Tanner park proper has a short and hilly paved running loop. The gold is in the Parley's Natural Area - a wildlife area behind Tanner Park. Just proceed to north east end of park for trail down into small valley.
