The Suwanee Creek Greenway was constructed in 1990. A 3-mile extension was added in 2004, bringing the total length to 4 miles. If you do the little loops at each end of the out-and-back, then it's about 9 miles. The trail is open to walkers, runners, bikers, and rollerbladers (no motorized vehicles).
For the first 3 miles the trail is a paved with asphalt or cement. Also there are some wooden sections that are built to traverse the swampy areas. The last mile changes to hard packed dirt just south of George Pierce Park. There are some hills at this point but mostly flat, with some exposed roots. If you're there after a rain, some sections of the trail will be flooded. The trail goes under two busy roads, McGinnis Ferry and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd. You only have to cross Martins Farm Rd, which is normally not very busy. Overall, this is a very easy trail. The only dfficulty would be that being near a creek with lots of tree cover, it can get rather steamy in the summer. If you're walking, you'll probably want to bring some insect repellant.
Here is a map of the trail:

The southern trailhead is located at Suwanee Creek Park, 1170 Buford Hwy in Suwanee.
From I85 exit Old Peachtree Rd. and turn left (west). Continue on Old Peacthree Rd for 1.7 miles. Then turn right on Scales then right on Buford Hwy (US 23). Suwanee Creek Park will be about 1 mile on the right, just past Industrial Ct.
Other access points:
* Near the Suwanee Sports Academy at 3640 Burnette Rd
* Martin Farm Park, about a half-mile west of Satellite Blvd
* Suwanee Elementary School
