South Loop Trail is an 8.2 mile trek to the summit of Mt. Charleston (11,920')starts out from the trail head on a steep slope up to a ridge. It then heads west through the Meadows and into a forest. Once above the treeline, the trail becomes more difficult near the summit. Bring plenty of water and food, and plan to make the return trip back to your car before dark as the gate closes at dark. Trail may be covered in snow during mid winter (December - March) be prepared.
This is a fantastic run, enjoy!!
