The Rexius Trail is a 3.5 mile woodchip loop, marked every 1/4 mile. It is a great place for steady runs or fartlek workouts, as there are only 4 minor road crossings per loop. Footing is soft (even softer when wet), and scenery is solid, with Spencer's Butte looming to the south. You will barely notice the gradual uphill as you run south, but of course, you get it back as you round the turn on the southern end and head back north. Not as crowded as the Adidas/Amazon trail (just 3/4 mile away to the north), but a great place to train.
Start at Hilyard St. and East 33rd Ave. The path traverses both sides of the Amazon Creek, along West and East Amazon Drives. The southern edge of the trail is near Martin Street.
