Surf: Beach Break
Filed Under: Camping, Fishing, Running, Surfing
As of this writing the beach was starting to see new development. Lots are being sold off and there are plans for upscale hotels and resort-type amenities. But this is Mexico, and you never really know what is gonna happen for sure. In any case, come enjoy this popular surf destination before it gets turned into another tourist trap.
This beach offers some of the best swimming access in the Todos Santos area. It is also a good area for children, and a great place to collect sea shells. However, riptide still exist as they do just about everywhere on the Pacific side of Baja.
Surfing
The beach break is very long and generally rock reef free. This is probably the single best surf beach on the West Cape of Baja Sur with outer sets that can get head+ high with long rides and smaller breaks closer to shore for the beginners.
As of this writing, there were to makeshift surf shops on the beach and a few restaurants.
Fishing
Another good surf fishing beach with easy access and shallow waters for wading. The extreme north end of the beach has some accessible rock outcroppings. Boat launching is permitted at Los Cerritos.
Directions
The turnoff is located at the top of a large hill along Highway 19 around the KM64 marker. The dirt/sand road is well travelled, but the turn off may be easy to miss.
