This was my second year to run this race. It was difficult the first year, but the second seemed harder even though my time was seconds off my first years time. The scenery is nice and the awards are super unique.

Great Race! Crowd is supportive, the race directors are very well organized, and the first half of the race is very scenic but can be hilly. You won't get bored on the first half. Race is also great because it has a marathon, half marathon, 4-person relay, 5K race, and a Kid's race.

I loved this marathon...it's in my hometown, so the crowd appeal was heightened by a few familiar faces. The side-line supporters carried us runners well, know them or not. The Southern Hospitality IS there--area restaurants, and the entire downtown area know the runners are coming in. I watched many eateries make fun changes near race-day, with food specifically geared to a distance runner's needs. My only regret was missing out on those unique awardsl!~ didn't know to stay around for the awards ceremony, and never got the "bling."..but I DID get a great t-shirt, and a some well-done snapshots from the race's end.
