This is a desert trail run over mostly flat, hard packed sand with a few wash crossings. There is one aid station that is passed twice.

Apache Junction is located approximately 30 miles east of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Take Loop 202 east to Loop 101 south. Take Loop 101 south to the Superstition Freeway. Exit Loop 101 eastbound onto the Superstition Freeway (US 60) and continue east to the Ironwood exit. Take Ironwood north to Apache Trail. Turn right (east) to enter downtown.

Prospector Park: From US 60,take the Ironwood Road exit. Look for a small sign at the end of the off ramp directing you to go north. Take Ironwood north approximately three miles to McKellips Road. Turn right (east) on McKellips and go one mile to Idaho. Turn right (south) on Idaho and follow the directions to parking.

Rodeo Grounds: Continue on the Superstition Freeway to Tomahawk, which is two miles east of the Ironwood exit. Look for a small sign at the end of the off ramp directing you to go north.
