The Keystone Gulch Trail follows a road that gradually climbs through a heavily forested area for about 5 miles. This portion is suitable for beginners. You may encounter alpine skiers utilizing this road, so be aware of their presence.

From I-70 take Exit 205, Silverthorne / Dillon, and travel east on HWY 6 toward Keystone. Travel approximately 6.16 miles and turn right at the traffic light in Keystone. Turn left immediately onto Keystone Road and go .3 miles. Turn right at the first road, Soda Ridge Road, and travel .5 miles to Keystone Gulch Road. Turn left onto Keystone Gulch Road. Park at the end of the plowed area near the gate. If there is no parking available, park at the Keystone Lodge on Hwy 6 and take the free shuttle bus to the trailhead area.
