It's time for the 2nd Annual Keep Austin Weird 5K!
*Win a Mazda Miata for a month
Like last year, the 2nd Annual Keep Austin Weird 5K will entail much more than running. We will celebrate Austin and it's uniqueness. Last year's event attracted a wide variety of people from serious runners to not so serious folks ready to have a good time. Supported by a "Who's Who" of Austin based businesses, the run benefits one of Austin's treasures, Barton Springs Pool.
In it's inaugural year, the race saw almost 4000 runners, walkers, bikers, skaters and others. This is guaranteed to be a great time for all. In addition to being one of Austin's only evening runs, music, food, and drink will follow as well as a great number of contests (including Austin's Weirdest Person). This year's FREE CONCERT promises to be even bigger and better. Come out and join us with the family and the dog for a great time celebrating the great city that we live in and Keep Austin Weird by continuing to support our great local businesses.
Activities begin @ Noon with the 1st Annual KeepAustinWeird Disc Golf Tournament. Music starts at 1:00PM (and continues till 10:00 PM). Everything takes place on Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin.
This year's event features a truly unique course as it runs thru both East and West 6th Street. There will be many "FUN" stops in addition to regular water stop. Check the website for all the "weird" goings on!
*Roger Beasley Mazda North - South - Georgetown will be giving some lucky winner the use of a brand new 2004 Mazda Miata for 1 month! The winner will be selected at random from the pool of all 5K registered participants. The winner must be present at drawing to win. We will keep drawing until there is a winner. Be there!
Race, FREE Concert and all other scheduled activities takes place on Auditiorium Shores in downtown Austin located at Barton Springs Road and 1st Street, on Town Lake. Check Mapquest for your exact driving instructions.
