The Jacksonville Marathon course is USA Track and Field certified. The course starts at The Bolles School on San Jose Blvd. and heads South to Mandarin, does a loop and heads back along the St. John's River to Bolles. You can qualify for the Boston Marathon and the Olympic Trials at this event. The course is flat (no hills & no overpasses) and 80% shaded.
Medical stations will be located at various points along the course and at the finish. Water & Powerade served every two miles. Gel will be available at the 16 and 19 mile water stations. Clocks and markers at every mile. Timing by ChampionChip.
Because of the timing of the Jacksonville Bank Marathon, you can qualify for the Boston Marathon for the next two years.
From the South, take Highway 13 (San Jose Blvd.) north for five miles off Interstate 295. From the north, exit Interstate 95 at Baymeadows Road. Take Baymeadows three miles west to San Jose Blvd. The Bolles School is located two miles to the north on the left. The Bolles School Campus is located at 7400 San Jose Blvd.

This was a fun race. The course was much more beautiful than I expected. In 2002, the weather was humid as usual but otherwise perfect for a marathon. The aid stations were good and there were quite a few people cheering on the sides of the street (not like Boston), but more than I expected. Overall, i was quite pleasently supriised by the race and the organization.
My wife and father-in-law both qualified for Boston at this race. Actually they both placed in their age-groups.
