A family oriented Race/Walk for participants of all ages - 5K Race for all ages, 1 mile Fitness Walk, and a 1/2 mile Kids' Fun Run.
Race through protions of the world's largest model of the solar system, an experience that is out of this world!
Participants will follow the routes of interplanetary explorers through the solar system from the Earth to Mercury, Venus and Mars. The total distance for the 5K runnrs will be equal to the distance from Earth to Jupiter.
It's athletic, it's education, it's fun ... for the whole family!
March 31:
Packet Pickup, Noon-5 pm Friday, at Lakeview Museum
April 1:
8:00 am - Race day registration/packet pickup
9:00 am - 5K Race
9:05 am - 1 Mile Walk
9:30 am - Kids' Fun Run
Refreshments after 5K race; Awards promptly after the Kids' Fun Run
Cap: All participants will receive a specially designed cap or T-shirt.
Awards:
Awards to overall male and female winners and top 3 male and female 5K runners in each age division. Ribbons for Kids and Fitness walkers. All kids will receive their choice of a Terry the Tractor book signed by the author, Mike Rucker, the race director.
Divisions:
5K divisions: overall male and female
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and up
Course:
Entirely on the flat (no hills) portion of lower Detweiller Park
Detweiller Park (lower level - north end)
Hwy 29 & W. Detweiller Dr.
