On Saturday, October 15, all participants must check in at the on-site registration area located directly in front of the Health Magazine Festival at the Wadsworth Theater Great Lawn.
Registration and bib number pick up for the 5K walk is from 7:30 to 8:15 AM. Registration and bib number/chip pick up for the 5K run is from 8:00 to 8:45 AM. All participants receive a free race t-shirt
Course: The course lets participants run and walk through some of the most interesting and scenic grounds in Los Angeles. The race weaves around the Veterans Administration complex in Brentwood, passing by the historic Brentwood Theater, Wadsworth Theatre and Jackie Robinson Stadium, with the Santa Monica Mountains as a backdrop.
Participants will head east on Eisenhower Avenue, turn right on Bonsall Avenue and then right on Dowlen Drive East, where they will loop around the VA healthcare facilities back to Bonsall Avenue. The race then continues north on Bonsall and veers right (after Grand Avenue) to pass by Jackie Robinson Stadium ?home of UCLA Bruins baseball, before merging back into Bonsall Avenue until it ends. Runners/walkers then turn left on Macarthur Avenue, pass by the landmark Brentwood Theater and head south back to Eisenhower Avenue for the Finish
After the Race, participants can cool down and relax with free massages, spa treatments and yoga classes hosted by celebrity instructors at the Yoga Festival, which is open until 2pm that day. The Festival will also feature a variety of fun fitness classes, kids' activities, cool giveaways and prizes.
The Race begins inside the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center, on Eisenhower Avenue, east of Macarthur Avenue and west of the Wadsworth Theatre.
From 405 San Diego freeway, exit Wilshire West. Event will be held inside the Veterans Administration grounds, at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and San Vicente in Brentwood. Entrance to the VA grounds via Wilshire Blvd or San Vicente Blvd.
Parking: Cars will be directed to lots on the Event grounds. Parking is $7.00.
