The Hawaii Cycling Club, based on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii, is one of Hawaii's premier amateur road, mountain and multisport (duathlon/triathlon) cycling and community sports organizations. The Club formed over the years of 1997-1999. The Club's racing team - the Hammerheads - competes on a state and mainland-wide calendar that includes the eight race Hawaii State Cycling Association BAR (Best Area Rider) road series on the islands of Hawaii and Oahu, and various high level races in the western United States.

The racing team boasts no fewer than One World Amateur Triathlon Champion, Duathlon National Champion, three time Ultraman Champion, numerous Ironman World Championship finishers, high ranking NORBA mountain bikers, and present and past Hawaii State Champion cyclists. Aside from all these great athletes, we are mostly just regular folks who enjoy being on the road or in the dirt. From our racing team to our beginner's cycling class, Cycling 101, we offer something for everyone on the street or trail.

Saturday Morning Ride:

7am at the Old Airport playground parking area. We'll leave as a group and head north up Queen Ka'ahumanu Hwy. Ride at your own pace and feel free to ask one of our knowledgeable riders for tips on impoving your cycling skills. Faster riders can enjoy a good paceline workout with members of the Hammerhead Race Team. There is always a group going your pace so don't worry if you're not a racer.

Mountain bike rides are scheduled on a less regular basis. Contact Grant Miller, ride leader at (808) 326-2453 for details on the next ride. Each ride travels to a different part of the island and is suitable to all levels of rider. s
