Because of it's location, this Half Marathon is one of the most pleasurable runs in the western United States. It runs along Clear Creek and is a scenic and gently rolling mountain course that winds down the Clear Creek Valley. The course lies along the Frontage Road running parallel to, but well away from I-70. Vehicular traffic on the course is minimal. Be aware however, that the road is not closed. Runners must stay to the right side of the middle of the road.

Course: Run the service road to Idaho Springs then down Colorado Blvd (east) to 12th Avenue. Turn Right 1 block to finish line. After finishing, continue to move through the chutes to the football field for water, t-shirts, and food. Although the course is at high elevation (8500' to 7500' Start to Finish), it is a relatively fast one due to the gentle downhill nature of the course.

We encourage you to carpool to the start area, park by 6:45am (no exceptions). If you plan on riding the bus from Idaho Springs, arrive early. Expect traffic congestion. Buses will run from 5:30am-6:45am. Board the earliest bus possible at the Forest Service building next to the middle school. If you miss the bus, your alternative is to drive to Georgetown. Transportation is not provided back to Georgetown after the race.
