This Missouri River lake provides a tree-covered shoreline characterized by picturesque chalky bluffs in the lower segment and a beautiful view of the Missouri Valley in the upper reach. The Lewis and Clark Visitor Center offers displays on the geology, exploration, early navigation, settlement and natural history of the area as well as a spectacular view of the lake. Recreational opportunities include camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, sailing, swimming, bird-watching, and photography. In the winter, visitors enjoy ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snow mobiling and sledding.
