Flat, fast course showcasing Florida's beach communities, residential neighborhoods and public parks. Average weather is close to ideal with daily temperatures averaging low 50's - low 70's. Great race for runners preparing for winter marathons or for endurance athletes seeking to run their last race of 2004.
The course is very flat. The highest point (Park Boulevard Bridge, four miles into the course) is just 25 feet above sea level, with the rest of the course 10 - 25 feet above sea level. Point-to-point course, heading north through our five, unique beach communities to Indian Shores, before heading inland to Seminole, and north along the Pinellas Trail to the lakefront finish line in Taylor Park.
The finish line will be open for 3.5 hours, and the course will open to traffic based upon that pace. For instance, participants should be at the midpoint by 8:50 a.m. Participants slower than that need to move to the sidewalks and adhere to normal pedestrian laws.
Running Starfish Gold Halfathon Medals for all finishers
Age Group Awards - 3 deep in standard 5 yr. age groups
Overall M/F Awards - 3 deep
Masters M/F Awards - 3 deep
