The First Run features a large, fast field for the first race of year. Course is mostly flat and fast, starting at the memorial auditorium near the corner of Main and South Union. The course proceeds north to North Street, turning right and right again onto North Willard. On North Willard, the course goes south until Route 7 - the rotary, and then a right onto South Union, staying north until the finish line next to Edmunds School.
The 1 mile run is for kids 4 to 14 years old. It is an out and back on Union street, starting near the corner of Main and South Union. All participants receive a Finishers Award.
A portion of the funds raised in First Run support the YMCA's financial assistance program.
The course starts at the memorial auditorium near the corner of Main and South Union in Burlington, Vermot.
