Eagle Creek Park is a great place for runners, bikers, hikers, etc. There are gravel trails through forests or you can choose to do measured 5k, 8k, or 10k loops on the roads in the parks which begin at the beach near the south entrance. The trail system is a bit confusing, but the trails are very well maintained and interesting. The measured loops on the roads have mile marks. The park does charge an entrance fee. ($3 for cars, $1 for pedestrians)

Eagle Creek park is located on the northwest side of Indianapolis, just outside of the I-465 loop. You can exit I-465 at either 56th street or 71st street. From 56th street, travel west and the park will be on your right. If you exit at 71st street, travel west and 71st runs straight into the north gate of the park.
