From the Dry Creek Trailhead, the trail heads west, initially following the creek for about .4 miles. You'll cross 3 small footbridges. After the 3rd footbridge, you enter a field where the loop section of the trail is located. Go either right or left. Whichever way you choose, watch for the 'unofficial' continuation of the trail at the southeast or southwest of the loop. Take the 'unofficial' trail extension along the perimeter of a fence to make a wider loop than the official trail. You'll come back around to that footbridge. Cross and return back to trailhead.

This is a flat, pleasant short run, especially nice for dogs because of the creek access and the offleash allowed/voice command status of the trail. There are great views of the Flatirons and the Indian Peaks throughout the run. From Boulder: Take Baseline Rd. Past Cherryvale (Baseline will go north then east again at Cherryvale). After Cherryvale, and after you pass a middle school then Baseline Reservoir, watch for Dry Creek Trailhead on your right (South). If you reach 75th street, you've gone too far and passed the trailhead.

From Denver: Take Hwy 36 to Boulder. Take the first Boulder exit for South Boulder Road. Take right off of exit and head east on South Boulder Road. Take left at Cherryvale and go north. Take right at Baseline and go east, past middle school and past Baseline Reservoir. Watch for Dry Creek trailhead on your right (South). If you reach 75th street, you've gone too far and passed the trailhead.
