The Danielesque Trail Marathon (27.6 miles) and Half Marathon (13.8 miles) is low-key trail race run as a tribute to Daniel Rosenfeld. The course is all off road, follows the perimeter trails of White Ranch Open Space near Golden, CO and in a Danielesque way, adds extra distance to the traditional marathon and half marathon distances. Proceeds from the race are donated to White Ranch Open Space and The All American Trail Runner's Association.

Even though the Danielesque Trail Marathon and Half Marathon is a low-key event, it is not a casual walk in the park. The trail will be marked as well as possible, but there are many other park users including hikers, horse back riders, mountain bikers, coyotes, squirrels, and mountain lions. Some of the other users may remove course markings out of fear, spite, or hunger. As a result, each runner must review the park map prior to the race and pay attention to where they are going at all times during the race. Please know that the following REAL dangers may exist and may affect the longevity of your life: flooded creeks to cross; steep hills to climb, descend, and traverse; THUNDER-STORMS; kamakazi mountain bikers, hikers, horse back riders, and other big, dangerous animals. In short, you need to pay attention to your surroundings at all times, as well as have a few screws loose. Also keep in mind that all distances are measured in "Forest Service Miles" which does not accurately reflect the space portion of the space - time continuum. In other words, don't plan on setting a PR in the marathon or half marathon because in a very Danielesque way, the race is longer than the 26.2 or 13.1 miles respectively.

From Golden, head north on Highway 93. Turn west onto 58th Ave. The parking lot is on the right, after going through the Hogback.

Should not have run this race one week before my marathon. I started to walk when I reached 1:50, so as not to over do it.
